Organic circuits, and an internet of things made of materials that grow, decay and die.
Speculative objects illustrating a world where electronics and natural objects would be intertwined in an intimate way.
Modern objects are made from homogeneous, controllable materials — plastic, mostly — because production lines want to predict their failure rate and eliminate error from the process. Believing that our capacity to repurpose unpredictability into meaning is what makes us human as opposed to machine, this work explored what less controllable processes and materials produce, compared to techniques like the printed circuit board.
